Hossegor’s waves, perfect beaches and the thousands of people that flock to the south of France. Sam Scoble Iamwhy team rider has been surfing the best banks around the area with british photographer Stuart Gaston joining him for two weeks. working on an latest article for the coming month, the waves started out small in the first week but building for the following week allowing for some good shots!

The central of Hossegor has been crowded every night with young people hitting the clubs and bars around. There’s a good swell heading for thursday onwards so check in a see if the british crew scored it on not…………..

The Relentless Boardmasters kicked off with good weather and surfing conditions ranging from 3-4ft. The first round started on tuesday, running into wednesday. My heat was at the start of round one, also winning $300.

As the week went on Daniel Ross took the crown of the event on friday. Thousands of people took to the gigs and streets of Newquay after each day of the contest. Another huge Boardmasters event…..

Over and out from France

July 25th, 2009

The summer has finally kicked off in France, there are people everywhere rushing to no where. Last time we spoke it was heading towards being one of the worst summers for waves we can remember, but the last couple of weeks hasproved that France is still one of the best places in the world.

In the last few weeks I have probably surfed the most I have ever surfed going in up to four times a day. After a week of doing this we were almost wishing for a flat or windy day to regain some energy but one never came. I feel this trip to France has been the most beneficial trip to boost my surfing ability and would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to improve.

Although we are sad to leave we are leaving at the right time as it’s getting very crazy both in and out of the water as it approches August.

France

July 1st, 2009

Been in France for just under two weeks. The first week we had good waves altho a lot of people were being negative about the sand bars. After three days of surfing non stop it went flat for the next five days, to keep fit and to pass the time we did a lot of training in and out of the water trying to get in the sea once a day or more to stay paddle fit.

Other than training we also went to visit a friend and used his golf buggy for the day, in the evening we managed to find out that there was free food and drink at the Creme cafe so we stocked up on our weekly intake of protein.

After a couple of days the waves picked up again, we really didn’t expect that it would be as busy as it was but we made the most of the small swell.

Tune in for next weeks update……..
